Ethics Poll: Someone's pestering you.

yeah, it happens now and again... either intentional or unintentional we all get the attention of someone who doesn't seem to be easing up. it isn't problematic or painful but it's persistent and annoying.

you've tried TP broadcasting... maybe they're ignoring you, maybe they aren't recieving you.

you've tried to dissolve the link... did it work? what happened next? is the link still there?

what is going through your mind now?

what are you inclined to do?

Anytime somebody does something psionically to me that I did not give them permission to do, I dont hold back at all. No warnings, no second chance. May seem a bit over the edge, but they should be smart enough to not randomly DO something to me.

I usually try "cocoon mode" first. If it still won't go away, I get someone I trust to take a look at me and see if there are any links or what might be going on. If it gets too bad, well... I don't have a lot of combat experience, but several of my friends do, and if it comes to that, some of them are... rather protective of me ;-)

guess i should answer my own poll, eh? :P

i don't know how i'd really react but i would think that i'd probably do the whole coccoon thing. i mean, if the person is doing it intentionally then let's make it harder for them. if the person has no idea they're doing it (and isn't receptive to me using TP to tell them to stop) well, is it right for me to blast them with all i've got?

though i have tested constructs on vamp-links before and i of course have moments where i've reacted badly in my past.

Coccon mode, I dont care as long as it doesnt affect me too much, but if its a vamp then ill attack gently for the person to stop.

for me, I will go into a "cocoon mode" via stealth shields, making me psioncally invisible. If they still bug me, then that tells me that they are most likely trying to annoy me in particular. This is usually where I get a little more psionically agressive(hence me choosing D).

Not too many people annoy me psionically (except for a couple of friends who I try to explain psi to), but if someone does annoy me, I'd put up a defensive construct and try to trace where it's coming from. And if they really are bugging me, I guess I'll send an annoying construct back at them. As for vamp-links, I don't know I've never encountered one before.

Pestering

Speaking as one of the few people unable to shield, if I get messed with I hit the other where it hurts.

it depends on the situations as to how I respond. if it is a vampiric link, I attempt to sever or fight fire with fire and vamp back. if it is a "construct" I send out a "construct" also. if it is a scanner I shield. if it is a ping repeatedly with no intention of quitting, I shield packing energy into my shield over time, than throw my shield out toward where the ping are coming from. or similar ways of stopping things like that.
